Children’s charity is calling for help this Christmas
As a mother, my biggest priority in life is to ensure that my children are safe, happy and well cared for. The thought of them waking up on Christmas Day, of all days, to face fear, neglect or abuse is heartbreaking and I’m sure every parent reading this feels the same way.
Sadly, not all children are as fortunate as mine, which is why I’ve found the NSPCC’s Christmas TV appeal particularly moving. It is terrible to think that children have to use the charity’s ChildLine at all, but a young person calls for help every 25 seconds. That’s a staggering statistic and a grim reminder as to why it’s such an important facility for vulnerable, scared children.
The NSPCC is asking for donations to help keep this vital resource going. So no matter where those children wake up on Christmas Day, and in what circumstances, they will at least have the means to call for help.
