Tuck n’ Snug® and The Sleep Nanny® team up to banish sleepless nights

 In Stay on Bedding

Nightly battles could be a thing of the past, thanks to our Countdown to a Blissful Bedtime.

With the help of international sleep expert Lucy Shrimpton (pictured below) – otherwise known as The Sleep Nanny® – innovative children’s stay-on bedding company Tuck n’ Snug® has created the ultimate bedtime checklist for parents.

With these simpleLucy mini steps, parents who currently face hours of nocturnal negotiations to get their children to sleep could see their entire bedtime routine reduced to no more than 45 minutes.

Sleep deprivation is commonly viewed as an inevitable part of raising children, but Lucy believes this does not have to be the case. A Certified Gentle Sleep Coach, Lucy’s mission is to give families back the gift of refreshing, restful sleep.

Created by British mum-of-two Annabel Anderson, Tuck n’ Snug® prevents children waking during the night due to their covers falling off the bed. The unique concept sees the duvet cover and pillow case secured to the mattress using fabric flaps – ensuring children stay cosy and warm all night long.

Together, they hope to help families reclaim their sleep and enjoy restful nights, every night. Parents who try the following simple steps could see their lives transformed and sleep issues solved for good.

Countdown to Blissful Bedtime – in summary

5 – End of the day, gentle play
Turn off the TV and enjoy some simple stories, memory games or even puzzles with your child. “A lot of parents feel that their child’s bedtime routine begins some hours before they go to bed, but that shouldn’t be the case,” Lucy says. “There needs to be a clear distinction between the quieter, ‘winding down’ activities that are still part of their day, and the actual bedtime routine.”

4 – Sleep’s ahead, ready for bed
Now for the bedtime routine, from bath to story. Keep the routine consistent and predictable every night. “The average bedtime routine should take no more than 30 to 45 minutes and making sure everything is quiet, relaxed and consistent will help to achieve this,” Lucy says.

3 – Joys or doubts, let’s talk it out
A peaceful mind is more likely to be a sleepy mind, so let your child tell you about the highs and lows of their day. “Letting their feelings out will help them get ready to settle,” Lucy says.

2 – Tuck n’ Snug, cosy as a bug
Children who wriggle and lose their bed covers in the night often wake up feeling cold or scared – which means Mum or Dad will be woken up too! Tuck them in with Tuck n’ Snug® stay-on bedding and they’ll be as warm and snug as a bug in a rug, all night long. Lucy says: “I have a set for my daughter and we love it, it’s great!”

1 – Off to a deep and dreamy sleep
If a child wakes in the night, parents must remember the golden rule – be consistent in your response, whatever that may be. “There is no ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to sleep,” Lucy says. “So once you’ve found the right solution for your child, consistency and predictability are once again the key to restful nights.”

Tuck n’ Snug® is available in toddler/cot bed and single bed sizes.   The sets currently come in two limited edition designs, with two brand new patterns “Animal Antics” and “Night-time Numbers” available in May 2016.
